We would like to point out some of Catania’s attractions:
-the central Piazza Duomo, featuring the symbol of the city, the elephant made of lava stone
- Monastero dei Benedettini on Piazza Dante
- Chiesa di Santa Chiara from the late 18th. Century
- Fontana dell’ Amenano
- Piazza Mazzini and the house (turned museum) in which Giovanni Verga was born
-Chiesa della SantissimaTrinità, built after the earthquake of 1693
- Chiesa di San Nicolò, the biggest church in Sicily
- Chiesa di Santa Maria dell’Aiuto
- Chiesa di San Giuliano
- Chiesa di San Francesco Borgia

Furthermore there are:
- Chiesa di San Benedetto on Piazza Asmundo
- Arciconfraternita dei Bianchi from the 18th. Century in Via San Martino
- Cattedrale dedicata a Sant’ Agata, the church built between 1078 and 1093 and consecrated to  Sant’Agata, the patron saint of the city
- Badia di Sant’Agata
- Basilica di Santa Maria dell’ Elemosina o Collegiata, riconstructed after the earthquake of 1693

- Anfiteatro romano and the Odeon in Via Teatro Greco
- Castello Ursino on Piazza Federico II di Svevia
- Palazzo degli Elefanti and Porta Uzeda
